Editing Photos for Beginners
Using Photoshop, learn basic editing techniques which can be easily transported and utilized in other editing software. Through a series of labs in this hands-on course, get to know the Photoshop desktop and recognize the Photoshop toolbox and toolbox options.  Open images and perform basic adjustments such as straighten, rotate and crop.  Use selection tools to finalize your photo with tone and color adjustments (brightness/contrast, levels, color balance, saturation, and remove red-eye).   Learn how to combine these techniques to enhance photos and to perform photo restoration, then save your finished edits.  Each participant will receive class handouts detailing materials brought up in class and a CD with trial versions of the photo editing software we discuss. Advanced Photo Editing

Create actions to do repetitive tasks and perform them in batches.  Use masks and channels to define highly accurate selection outlines.  Get creative by blending layers, applying drop shadows, glows, and edges to your images.  Enhance an image or create special effects with filters.  Save final images for the web, print contact sheets, and design web photo galleries.  Each participant will receive class handouts detailing materials brought up in class and a CD with trial versions of the photo editing software we discuss.
